I, Justin Neilson, am a 2002 graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, with a Bachelor Degree of Applied Science in Architectural Studies.  I also hold an Associates degree in Architectural Drafting from Kaskaskia Community College in Centralia, Illinois.  After college, I worked as an Architectural Intern / Project Manager for 2 different Southern Illinois Architectural Firms.  During this period I worked on numerous primary and secondary educational facilities, religious facilities, historic preservation, and commercial projects. I completed the National Council of Architectural Boards Internship Development Program, in 2007.

Later in 2007, I pursued more of a civil construction role and went to work as a Construction Engineer, on a $3.1 billion heavy civil project for one of the worlds largest Professional Engineering, Consulting and Project Management firms.  During this period, I worked as a lead for the shop drawing team, coordinating, checking, and collaborating with the designers, subcontractors, the government, and field personnel.  On this job, I gained substantial knowledge on reinforcing and concrete design. I coordinated procurement, fabrication, planning, and installation of 30,000 tons of reinforcing, while adhering to some of the most strict tolerances in the industry.

In December 2015, I successfully completed the Architecture Registration Exam and became a registered Architect in Illinois.  In December 2018, I became NCARB Certified.  In early 2019, I obtained licenses in Missouri, and Kentucky.  In February of 2021, I obtained my Tennessee Architecture License.  I am a professional member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).  Currently I hold certification as a Safety Trained Supervisor of Construction (STSC), from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, and I am also 10 hour OSHA certified.  I  have been trained by the United States Corps of Engineers in Contractor Quality Management for Construction and received Project Manager Training for Architects and Engineers by the Illinois Capital Development Board.

Currently I am seeking clients in Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee, to provide full Architectural Services from Design through completion.
